Joseph was born on 4th febuary 2004.
Died on 6 th febuary 2004.
Joseph weighed 4lb and 14oz.
Joseph was 2 days old when he died of a rare disorder called Edwards syndrome.
Joseph came home for a few hours and died at home.
Joseph has 2 sisters Lucy now 11 and Jessicca now 9, since his death he has another sister Zoe 4.
Josephs diagnois was bleak from the start, doctors told us if he survied the pregnancy, his life expectancy would not be very long.
Joseph had lots of defects to his heart and was born with his bowels out.
He had a strawberry shaped head and his fingers on both hands overlapped.
Joseph is my only son and words can not be put to say what he meant to us all. He will never be forgotton and will forever stay as our little fighter. You will stay in our forever broken hearts.
Edwards syndrome is a genetic disorder caused by the presence of all or part of an extra 18th chromosome.
Edwards occurs around 1 in every 3,000 live births and most die within the first few days and the few that survive longer have a 5% chance of dieing in their 1st year. There are many abnormalities mostly heart related and hands and feet have overlapping fingers and club feet, some like joseph have bowel problems. No doctor in england will provide much help for an edwards baby as most tretment can cause more problems for the child. They will help to keep the child comfortable and 24 hour assistance from a special care baby unit is available, an edwards baby will not be helped if breathing becomes difficult or stops as this can do more damage, and in most cases be no help.

5 big kisses sent to you our darling little boy. we would of had such fun today party games and a great big cake, lots of prezzies and cards u would of gooten.you you were only 7 minutes old this time 5 years ago son and i can still remeber the way you smelt , i will forever love you and keep you so very close in my heart. till we meet again son uncle podgie will keep you safe. love you forever mammy and daddy lucy jesicca and zoe.

Joseph you would have been starting full time school today, were are those little trousers and smart shirts.All those little friends are missing out. Lucy has strted senior school today so look after her close today cos she will be nervous.Loving you always forgetting you never love mammy and daddy.

I am sorry for your loss I really am.My little boy also had Edwards Syndrome so I can relate to some of your pain. Your little Baby is with all the other little ones that have sadly had lo leave us .. I wish it were different for you all I really do.
